The Crosby Group, a global leader in lifting, rigging, and material handling hardware, will more than double the size of its warehouse in Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium, to meet growing demands in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. The expansion will empower business partners to source all The Crosby Group products from one place.
The existing 1,800 square-meter warehouse in Heist-op-den-Berg will be increased to 4,200 square meters; ground was broken in May with completion scheduled for the end of this year. Watch a video timelapse of the project
Wim Fabricius, Managing Director for The Crosby Group EMEA region, said: "With this new, much larger and more modern warehouse we will increase our capacity to meet the increased demand for our products in the EMEA region. This investment reinforces our commitment to serve our customers in the best way possible and strengthen us as being the world leader in lifting and load securement.”
The project chimes with a move to a single order-to-cash process so regional partners will no longer have to work with multiple contacts and shipments when sourcing various branded products. The Crosby Group manufactures a myriad of products that are used for lifting, load securement and mooring, with premier, world-renowned brands such as Crosby, Gunnebo Industries, Crosby Feubo, Crosby IP, Crosby BlokCam and Crosby Straightpoint. During this year and into Q1 2022, a joint SAP system is also being implemented, to further improve the service level and customer experience for The Crosby Group’s business partners in EMEA.
The Crosby Group commissioned an external study on product flows that presented a blue-sky proposal on the location of the new warehouse. In addition to a systems and process overhaul, the new facility will also boast a range of physical features, such as narrow-aisle racking. Overall, the initiative chimes with constant endeavors to make lifting and load securement safer and more efficient at the point of use, in EMEA and around the world.
